Pam Shelton
Director of Community Education

Community Education is dedicated to offering reasonably priced, high quality, lifelong learning opportunities for personal and professional growth of everyone in the family.  Programs including educational, recreational, and social activities are developed allowing residents maximum use of their school facilities.  With the support of a well-rounded and very active advisory council, all courses are based on ideas and needs expressed by the community.  Over 36,000 brochures are distributed to Yukon and the surrounding areas offering fall and spring classes and activities.

The Community Education program contributes to the "Excellence of Education" of Yukon Public Schools.

Yukon High School Students explore life as an adult.  Each year ninth grade students participate in Reality Check. Students are each given a career with a salary.  Using their salary, these students experience the day in the life of being home owners, paying child care, car purchase, and car and home insurance...just to name a few experiences.

If your student needs a brief refresher before taking their driving test, you can pay for an extra hour with our certified driving instructor.  He will bring all the things they learned in Driver's Education back into focus making your soon-to-be driver more confident and secure in the rules of the road.  Our instructor's schedules are flexible and usually can accommodate your timetable easily.  Cost: $35/hour
